OPINION: In Wake Of Manchester Terror, Manitoba Needs Secure Borders NOW

WINNIPEG, MB – In the wake of the horrific Manchester terror attack, the importance of security has been brought to the forefront.

We must face the fact that terrorism is a serious threat, and poses a risk to everyone in the Western world.

Disturbingly, while the vast majority of us understand the growing danger, those in power seem oblivious, or willfully ignorant.

The Trudeau government has shamefully refused to secure the Manitoba border, and even as we speak people are illegally entering our country.

While the majority of those entering illegally are not terrorists, it just takes one or two people to cause horrific suffering.

And while it would be “nice” to pretend we are somehow safe in Canada, we know that terror can strike anywhere, and letting our guard down invites disaster.

That’s why Manchester must serve as a wake-up call to confront terrorism, and stop the total mockery of our border laws and rules.

Every country has a right to decide who is allowed to enter, and who is not. Those decisions must be made on our terms, not the terms of others.

Manitobans and all Canadians deserve safety, and we deserve to have our border respected and protected.

We cannot afford to be complacent.

Yeah, because Manitoba in general and Winnipeg in particular have historically been a hotbed of terrorist violence. You sir, are just a scaremongering troll.
