Police investigating sudden death in North End

Homicide Police RCMP Crime Scene - Winnipeg Police

Winnipeg police are investigating the sudden death of a woman.

Emergency personnel were called to the North End home on a well-being check.

Crime tape now surrounds the brick house at 298 Pritchard Avenue near Charles Street.

Initial reports said a person may be injured inside and require medical attention.

Body discovered Monday morning

Crews discovered the woman’s body around 10:00am Monday.

Neighbours say it’s not unusual for police to visit the house.

The homicide unit is now investigating, though a cause of death has not been identified.

Investigators have been observed entering and leaving the home with plastic evidence bags.

Home vacant: neighbour

A neighbour says the home has been vacant for a couple of weeks.

A couple lived there and had frequent visitors.

Students at Holy Ghost School on Selkirk Avenue are being kept indoors at this time.

MyToba will update this story as more information becomes available.
