Canada-wide warrant issued for best-friend killer
Dean Commanda, a Calgary native, was convicted for brutally killing and dismembering his best friend over ten years ago. His nine-year jail sentence expired this past November and he was released.
On July 28th, 2016, a warrant was issued for Commanda’s apprehension and the suspension of his release.
Commanda allegedly stabbed his best friend to death – 22-year-old, Chad Largy – before dismembering his body and hiding it in multiple dumpsters around Calgary. Commanda then took it into his own hands to hide and burn evidence linking himself to the crime. Police managed to pull DNA from the crime scene to tie Commanda to the homicide.
Commanda was originally convicted of manslaughter, assault with a weapon and indignity to a dead body.
Anyone with information surrounding Commanda’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
