A tentative agreement has been reached between the Manitoba government and the Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union (MGEU) for their main contract.

The agreement, subject to ratification by MGEU members, would eliminate the need for an arbitration process agreed to between the government and MGEU scheduled for May.

MGEU will present the tentative agreement to its members when it goes to a ratification vote in the coming weeks and will share the details when they present the agreement.

Manitoba has more than 14,000 civil servants.
