A security staff strike has been averted at Health Sciences Centre.
A tentative agreement has been reached with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority ahead of a 7:00am Tuesday morning deadline.
It still needs to be ratified.
Turnover has been high with security guards frequently finding themselves in dangerous situations.
That led many of them to jump into police work.
The contract calls for an adequate pay bump.
It will be the first new agreement in almost four years.
