Bloodsucker mosquito on human skin, low point of view

City of Winnipeg

The Public Works Department’s Insect Control Branch has temporarily suspended the Elm Bark Beetle Control Program. The program is intended to control elm bark beetles, the carriers of Dutch Elm Disease. However, with the significant rain received over the last six days and the additional rain forecasted this weekend, the Insect Control Branch is focusing all its resources on larviciding for mosquito control.

A public service announcement will be issued when the program resumes.
