Who’s To Blame When Driverless Cars Crash?

Advocates of self-driving cars say eliminating human error in vehicles could save thousands of lives every year.

But that’s not to say that driverless cars will never crash, especially with a mix of vehicle technologies on the road – not to mention cyclists and pedestrians as well. So when the cars do crash, who is at fault?

    I suspect the auto industry will take the lead from the aircraft industry on driverless technology. The aircraft industry has heavily embraced the use of automation. However, at the end of the day, the pilot is always responsible for the aircraft, regardless of how much technology is packed onboard.
