While summer may be winding down, the city’s fall food season is ramping up.

Loads of autumn harvest parties, events and fundraisers are all on the horizon.

Taste the Village — an outdoor party celebrating Osborne Village’s dynamic food and restaurant scene — runs Saturday, Oct. 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m..

This family friendly event includes cooking demonstrations, chef battles and food sampling from a variety of area restaurants.

The Village, as locals call it, is a veritable United Nations of cuisine. Italian, Australian, Japanese, Thai, Manitoba Regional, global fusion and Mexican bites are all on the menu.

Festival goers can buy tasting tickets in $10, $15 and $25 denominations.

Participating restaurants include: Buccaccinos, Billa Bong Gastropub, Kawaii Crepe, Bankok Thai, Sukothai, Tea Story, Fude, The Cheer, and Carlos and Murphy’s.

The seven-hour party also features free family activities including horse-drawn carriage rides, pumpkin decorating and face painting.
