Young woman from Cartier dies in accident

A 17-year-old woman from the RM of Cartier was killed when her vehicle rolled into a ditch this morning.

The accident occurred at around 4:45 a.m. on October 1, on the Trans-Canada Highway just east of Gaol Road.

The teenager’s car was traveling east when it hit the south ditch and rolled. The woman was ejected from her car and died on the scene. She was not wearing her seatbelt, but alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.

A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
