Winnipeg’s West End Cultural Centre Wins Community Excellence Award

Winnipeg West End Cultural Centre

Winnipeg, MB – The West End Cultural Centre won the Community Excellence Award at the Western Canada Music Awards 2016.

Check out this release from the WECC to get a sense of how much they offer the community:

The WECC is a non-profit organization that offers a multitude of community programming including Tune In (free afterschool music lessons for youth ages 9-18), a bi-weekly sing-a-long/concerts at the Lions Manor seniors home, Play & Record (a week long summer camp where youth come together, form bands, write songs and professionally record them).

New this year was Musical Notes & Lunch Totes, which was a free lunchtime concert series presented in partnership with The West End Biz and local West End businesses.

Approximately five times a year, the WECC hosts daytime concerts that are free for inner city schools, as well as workshops for local organizations. Our biggest events are the annual Holiday Dinner (which is a free turkey dinner with a visit from Santa and live music) as well as the Ellice Street Festival, which hosts live music and a celebration for 2000+ West End area residents.

It’s easy to see why they won the Community Excellence Award. Congratulations to everyone at the WECC!
