Winnipeg Goldeyes Re-Sign Kevin McGovern

Winnipeg, Manitoba – The Winnipeg Goldeyes have re-signed pitcher Kevin McGovern.

McGovern had an 8-3 record last season, with a 3.56 Earned Run Average. He had the second most strikeouts in the league with 125.

McGovern was the winning pitcher in the decisive fifth game of the American Association Championship Series.

Goldeyes Manager Rick Forney is glad to have McGovern back.

“I’m very pleased to have Kevin back in our rotation for 2017,” said Forney. “In my opinion, he was the best left-handed starter in the American Association in 2016.  Kevin really matured as a pitcher last year, and we are very excited to watch him continue to develop.”

Spring training begins May 6th.
