Winnipeg Goldeyes Add Youth

WINNIPEG, MB. — The Winnipeg Goldeyes added two young players to the team’s spring training roster.

Making the announcement on Tuesday afternoon, the Fish added outfielder Devan Ahart and infielder Jordan Ebert.

Ahart played for two affiliates in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ organization last year, including a 24-game stint with the Double-A Texas League’s Tulsa Drillers.

Ebert was a professional rookie in 2016, sharing time with two Kansas City Royals’ affiliates. He hit a combined .299 with one home run and 25 RBI.

“I’m really excited to add Devan and Jordan,” says Goldeyes manager Rick Forney.

“They are both really good, young players that are hungry and excited about the opportunity to play in Winnipeg. I’m looking forward to watching them play.”

The Goldeyes now have 25 players under contract for the 2017 season. American Association clubs may carry up to 28 players during spring training, which begins May 6th.
