Winnipeg City Council Will Present “Final” Offer

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg City Council will soon be offering the “final” offer in an attempt to reach a settlement with city workers.

The workers have been without a contract since late in 2016.

The top city negotiator will meet with CUPE Local 500 – representing about 5,000 members – for what could be a contentious meeting.

CUPE is concerned about potential cuts to certain pay levels and reduction in maternity leave.

Gord Delbridge – CUPE Local 500 President – says workers going on strike is a possibility.
