Winnipeg Bolsters Offensive & Defensive Lines

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed two players to help bolster the offensive and defensive lines.

International defensive lineman Lawrence Virgil, and offensive lineman Cody Speller were signed on Friday.

Virgil played in Valdosta State, and was born in Quitman Georgia. Virgil played three seasons for the Valdosta State Blazers between 2010 and 2013. In his junior season, he racked up 53 tackles and six sacks. Virgil was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2014.

Speller played for McMaster, and was born in Caistor Centre Ontario. He spent four years with the Mauraders in college, playing a total of 22 games. He played in the 2016 CIS East-West Bowl.

In another roster move, the Bombers released defensive back Josh Celerin.
