Trump cites 7-Eleven terrorist attacks
Do you remember the day the twin towers came crashing down on 7-Eleven?
Presidential hopeful Donald Trump does.
The Republican candidate referenced the convenience store chain when discussing the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
“It’s very close to my heart because I was down there, and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7-Eleven, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down, and I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”
Trump’s slip up came during a campaign rally Monday in Buffalo, New York.
It was one of his last stops before the state’s big primary on Tuesday.
The gaffe was part of a canned speech praising “New York values,” a term that has haunted Ted Cruz during the race.
Trump has often cited the 9/11 terrorist attacks during his campaign as a way to justify his platform.
He visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum for the first time in early April.
