Steinbach’s Poplar Park Ready for Action

STEINBACH, MB. – Ready, Set, Play! After an investment of $25,000, the new Poplar Park Playground in Steinbach is ready for action.

The finishing touches were just completed on new playground equipment and upgrades to Poplar Park, located between Poplar Crescent and Walnut Street.

This new playground includes all the things kids will love! A climbing structure, slide, balance beam, and spring rider. The parents will be happy to know a protective surface has been added under the new equipment as well as underneath the park’s existing swings and cable ride.

The Poplar Park project was started last fall with the installation of equipment, however wet weather postponed completion until now.

“The renewal of our city’s recreation spaces is important,” said Mayor Chris Goertzen, “Council recognizes this as a priority and has put aside a set amount every year for the renewal and enhancement of neighbourhood parks and this is one of the projects it has funded.”
