Winnipeg Teen Shot During West End Robbery

WINNIPEG, MB. — A Winnipeg teenager is recovering after being shot in the city’s West End.

It happened around 9:10pm Thursday near Furby Street and Ellice Avenue.

Winnipeg police say a man with a gun approached a group of boys and demanded personal property.

He shot on of the teens and fled before police arrived.

Officers called in the Tactical Support Team and the AVR-1 armoured vehicle, but they were unable to locate the armed fugitive.

The boy was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Police say his injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The investigation continues.
