Weddings at Niakwa

WINNIPEG, MB. – For couples seeking a scenic setting for their special day, it’s easy to say “I do” to booking their wedding at Niakwa Country Club.

Banquet manager Jami Krahn recommends that couples book at least a year in advance if they’re planning for popular summertime wedding dates at the country club, which is nestled in a niche at 620 Niakwa Rd.

“At Niakwa, we like to make it a one-stop shop,” she says. “While we don’t offer all-inclusive packages, we have almost all of the amenities available here.”

To facilitate a seamless process, they work closely with Dream Day Decor to offer top-notch décor packages, as well as with Crystal Sound DJ service to provide music for the occasion.

As for the food, Niakwa Country Club serves up mouth-watering meals that will add another unforgettable element to the overall experience.

“We offer the highest quality of food here. Everything is made in-house and we try to use local products,” Krahn says. “We have an excellent team in the kitchen and very qualified serving staff.”

Couples can customize their wedding by opting to use the newly renovated ballroom, which seats up to 200 guests, or an outdoor ceremony site for 150 to 200 attendees.

“The ballroom features a full wall of windows overlooking the Seine River. It has dark wood paneling around the perimeter of the room, so it’s a really elegant and warm space. There’s a modern bar that sits outside the ballroom and a new foyer that the guests have access to during their cocktail hour. The layout allows for a really great flow,” Krahn says.

‘The outdoor site is also a really beautiful space and you can do pictures there as well.”

For peace of mind, Krahn ensures that she is available to offer advice and assistance throughout the entire process.

“As the banquet manager, I work with the couples from the first time they get here. I’m here on the day of the wedding and throughout the evening,” she says.

“They can enjoy a level of comfort knowing that I’m there in case they have any questions. It’s just a nice touch to know that there’s a friendly face they’ve seen before.”

Adding to the ease, Niakwa Country Club offers ample free parking, and it’s a quick jaunt to most downtown hotels to accommodate out-of-town guests.

In addition to the popular summer soirées, the venue also offers winter wedding packages, including an all-inclusive option.

“You have the option of an indoor ceremony,” Krahn says, “and then you basically have full access to the golf course to take photos that you wouldn’t normally be able to take in the summertime.”
