Running Backs Coach Avon Cobourne Leaving Winnipeg

WINNIPEG, MB – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Running Backs Coach Avon Cobourne are parting ways.

The Bombers say Cobourne is planning to pursue opportunities outside the CFL.

A search for a replacement is already underway.

Born in Camden New Jersey, Cobourne was a star running back in college, before playing in both the NFL and CFL.

In 2009, Cobourne ran for over 1,200 yards and had 13 touchdowns. He was named Grey Cup MVP and was voted a CFL All-Star.

Cobourne joined the Bombers as Running Backs Coach in 2016, after two years in that role for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
