Winnipeg, Manitoba – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has announced the recall of a pastry product.

King’s Pastry is recalling King’s Pastry brand Tuxedo Bar Cake. The reason for the recall is that the product contains hazelnuts which are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to hazelnuts should not consume the recalled product described below.

Brand Name Common Name Size Code(s) on Product UPC
King’s Pastry Tuxedo Bar Cake 1050 g All codes where hazelnut and/or tree nuts are not declared on the label 6 85961 10038 1

The CFIA says it is possible the product has been distributed nationally.

If you or someone in your household has an allergy to hazelnuts, it is recommended that you check to see if the product is in your home.

If you find the product, the recommendation is to throw it out or return it to the store where you bought it.

The CFIA says this recall was triggered by a consumer complaint, and they are investigating further.
