Manitoba Government Working To Expand Home Ownership

WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba government is working to make it easier for low-income & modest-income Manitobans to become homeowners.

“Our government believes in finding ways to make it easier for more Manitobans to become homeowners,” said Families Minister Scott Fielding. “Owning a home can provide a sense of safety, security and pride for families.”

The government has allocated $1 million for two Requests for Proposals (RFP) as part of expanding affordable home ownership.

The first RFP seeks projects to provide capital funding for new construction and the renovation/conversion of existing homes. The second project is focused on homebuyer assistance, including funding for down payments and closing costs.
