Georgian Bay Vodka Recalled For Double Alcohol

WINNIPEG, MB. — An Ontario-made vodka is being recalled in that province because it contains twice as much alcohol content.

Georgian Bay bottles contain 80 per cent alcohol despite the labels indicating a level of 40 per cent.

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario says that makes the vodka potentially dangerous to consume.

In all, 654 bottles were affected in Ontario with 300 being stopped in LCBO warehouses before hitting store shelves.

Georgian Bay makes small batches and says the one in question was not not properly diluted before being bottled.

No illnesses have been reported to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Anyone with an affected bottle can return it at the LCBO for a full refund.
