Disqualified Driver Speeds Through School Zone

BRANDON, MB – Around 3:00 pm on Friday, a 42-year-old Crane River man sped through the JR Reid School Zone.

Police had been monitoring the area, and pulled the driver over.

It was discovered that the man was prohibited from driving.

The driver was charged with driving while disqualified, and was also given a speeding ticket.

    It would be difficult to believe that all disqualified drivers do not operate vehicles. Monitoring resources are scant and frequently their are enabled by those who should know better. Thus only a few of these get caught usually while committing another offence at the wheel.

    Perhaps when disqualified any vehicle registered under that person’s name should be de-registered and licence plate confiscated. Was the driver operating his or a borrowed vehicle?
