Alien: Covenant debuted with $36-million on a $97-million budget.

That pushed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 down a spot with $35.1-million in its third weekend.

Everything, Everything debuted in third place with $12-million on a $10-million budget.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul puttered into fifth place with $7.2-million on a $22-million budget.
