Car Plows Into Pedestrians In NYC’s Times Square

NEW YORK CITY, NY. — A speeding sedan has crashed into a crowd of pedestrians in New York City’s Times Square.

One 18-year-old man was killed and 22 others were injured. Their current conditions are unknown.

Ex-Navy officer Richard Rojas has been taken into custody, though the NYPD says it is not a terror attack.

The 26-year-old allegedly tried to flee the scene and punched a police officer during his arrest.

Police believe Rojas was impaired on either alcohol or drugs.

He has been convicted of driving under the influence twice before.
