Brandon Woman Returns Stolen Item, Demands Cash

BRANDON, MB. — A Brandon woman has been charged after trying to return an item she didn’t buy.

It happened back on April 22nd at a business in the 900-block of Victoria Avenue.

The suspect had entered the store, picked up an item from a shelf, and took it to customer service.

She demanded cash but the store said they couldn’t help her without a receipt.

The woman then left the store with the item in hand.

An investigation has been ongoing and police finally identified the suspect.

The 32-year-old was arrested on Wednesday and charged with Theft Under $5,000.

She was released on a promise to appear in court in August.
