The Boss Baby Tops Weekend Box Office

WINNIPEG, MB. — The Boss Baby made Beauty and the Beast step down.

The Alec Baldwin animated comedy opened in first place with $49-million.

That just slightly edged out Disney’s wildly successful live-action remake.

Still a beaut

Beauty and the Beast fell to second place with $47.5-million.

The film enjoyed two weekends on top.

It has grossed a worldwide total of over $877-million on a $160-million budget.

Ghost in the projector

Scarlett Johansson’s Ghost in the Shell under-performed and disappointed.

It grossed just $19-million domestically on a $110-million budget.

There may be a ghost in the shell, but there’s probably no sequel in the works.
