Bank Of Canada Unveils New $10 Bill

WINNIPEG, MB. — The Bank of Canada unveiled a new $10 bill design Friday.

It’s being released to mark the country’s 150th birthday being celebrated this summer.

The front features prominent Canadians, including Sir John A. Macdonald, Sir George-Étienne Cartier, Agnes MacPhail, and James Gladstone.

The back features landscapes chosen by a public vote.

Those include BC’s Lions and Capilano Lake, prairie wheat fields, Quebec’s part of the Canadian Shield, and the northern lights.

Some 40-million of the bills will enter circulation on June 1st.

They’ll also feature new security measures, such as colour-changing magnetic ink.

Another security feature includes 3D maple leafs that are flat when touched.
